DailyKey
Introduction
Thank you for using DailyKey. This policy explains how we handle your data. Our core principle is simple: your daily life belongs to you.
Core promise: DailyKey works without an account. Your habits, check-ins, and protected app selections are stored locally on your device. We do not upload them to our servers, and we do not sell or share your data.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
DailyKey stores the following information locally:
- Habits: titles, icons, targets, schedules, and colors you create
- Check-ins: completion values, notes, timestamps, and time zones
- Keys: rules, conditions, schedules, and bypass history
- Protected app selections: opaque tokens chosen through Apple's Family Activity Picker, stored only in your local App Group
- Reflections and settings: daily notes, appearance preferences, and notification settings
This data is stored in your device's local database and App Group storage. Deleting the app removes this data unless you have enabled iCloud sync through Apple.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We explicitly state that we do NOT collect:
- Your real name, email, phone number, or any identity information
- Your precise location
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or device fingerprints for tracking
- The specific apps you use outside of the opaque tokens stored locally for Keys
- Behavioral analytics or usage logs sent to our servers
3. Screen Time and System Permissions
DailyKey uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) only when you explicitly create a Key. These frameworks operate on your device and do not send us information about which apps you open or how long you use them.
4. Health Data
If you choose to create a health-verified habit, DailyKey reads only the specific data types you authorize through HealthKit. Health data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
5. Third-Party Services
DailyKey may use the following Apple services:
- Apple StoreKit: for processing subscriptions and one-time purchases; Apple manages all payment information
- Apple Screen Time / FamilyControls: for Key enforcement when you explicitly enable it
- Apple HealthKit: only when you create a health-verified habit and grant permission
- Apple iCloud (optional): if you enable sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud account managed by Apple
We do not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
6. Data Security
Because your data is primarily stored on your device, its security depends on your device's protections. We recommend using a device passcode or biometric lock and keeping your device software up to date.
7. Children's Privacy
DailyKey is not specifically designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Policy Updates
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updated policies will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Our core promise will not change: your habit and screen-time data stays under your control.
