Privacy Policy
NibbyBot
Introduction
Thank you for using NibbyBot. NibbyBot is a coding-and-drawing adventure app for children ages 5–8. We take children's privacy seriously, and this policy explains in plain language how we handle (and how we do not handle) your family's data.
Our core promise: NibbyBot is a local-first app — no accounts, no ads, no third-party tracking SDKs, no self-hosted backend servers. Your child's profiles, level progress, settings, and artwork are all stored locally on your device. No data is uploaded to us.
1. Information We Store
NibbyBot stores only the following information on your device:
- Child profiles: Avatar, color, and an optional local nickname (such as "Player 1") — stored only on this device
- Level progress: Completed levels, earned badges, unlock state — stored only on this device
- Artwork index: Thumbnails and program data for saved drawings — stored only on this device
- App preferences: Theme, sound, accessibility, and difficulty settings — stored in local system preferences
We never ask for real names, birthdates, email addresses, or phone numbers. Deleting the app also deletes all of the above data.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We explicitly state that we do not collect:
- Children's real names, birthdates, email addresses, phone numbers, or any identifying information
- Children's location data
- Device identifiers, advertising identifiers (IDFA), or tracking fingerprints
- Uploads of children's artwork, voice, or photo library content
- User behavior logs, usage statistics, or performance analytics
- Any information that could identify a child or build a profile of a child
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
NibbyBot is designed for children ages 5–8. We handle data according to the strictest children's privacy principles, in line with the spirit of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- We do not collect any personal information from children
- We do not display third-party advertising
- We do not integrate any third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs
- We do not offer open chat, community features, or communication with strangers
- Any action that could move data off the device (purchases, sharing, external links, deletion) requires a parent to pass the grown-ups-only gate first
4. Parent Gate Coverage
The following actions require the parent gate (adult verification) to access:
- Purchasing Nibby Pro (subscription or lifetime)
- Restoring purchases and managing subscriptions
- Opening the privacy policy, terms of use, or external web pages
- Exporting artwork to Photos or the system share sheet
- Deleting child profiles, artwork, or all local data
- Requesting system permissions such as photo access
Children using the app cannot reach any of these actions on their own.
5. Third-Party Services
NibbyBot relies only on the following official Apple service:
- Apple StoreKit: Handles payment and entitlements for Nibby Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase. Fully managed by Apple — we never see your payment details
We have not integrated any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We recommend reviewing Apple's privacy policy for more information.
6. Photos and Sharing
Your child's artwork stays on the device by default. Saving to the photo library or sharing with others happens only when a parent explicitly chooses to do so and passes the parent gate. Until then, artwork never leaves the device.
7. Data Deletion
Parents can at any time, from "Data Management" in the Parent Center:
- Delete an individual child profile
- Delete a single artwork
- Clear all artwork
- Reset all progress
- Delete all local data
Deletion requires a second confirmation. Once executed, it is immediate and irreversible.
8. Data Security
Because data is stored locally on your device, data security depends on your device's own protections. We recommend:
- Set a passcode or biometric lock on your device
- Turn on "Guided Access" or similar parental controls for your child
- Periodically export important artwork for backup via the parent gate
- Do not share your device passcode with others
9. Policy Updates
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Updated policies will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. No matter how the policy changes, our core promise to you stays the same: your family's data stays on your device.
