Numelody

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the Numelody app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download or use the App. The App is designed for children ages 4–8. All purchases must be made by a parent or guardian; children cannot make purchases themselves.

Description of Service

Numelody is a local-first touch-screen music toy for children ages 4–8. Kids play real melodies and free performances using big redundant-coded keys, then listen back to their own input. Animal partners echo the last few notes when a child pauses. The App uses a free + subscription + lifetime model: the free version includes the built-in song library and two music worlds, and paid plans unlock the full version, additional song packs, and multiple child profiles.

Important Disclaimers

No guarantee of educational outcomes: Numelody is a creative music toy for children, not music-teaching software. It does not replace professional music education and makes no guarantee of any improvement in musical ability, hearing development, or academic outcomes. The song library and music worlds are designed based on common concepts from early childhood music education. We cannot guarantee specific learning outcomes for any particular child.

Hearing safety: Prolonged high-volume use of any audio device may damage children's hearing. Parents should monitor device volume; use age-appropriate volume-limited headphones or external speakers. Stop using the app and consult a doctor if your child experiences hearing discomfort, tinnitus, or any other abnormality.

Screen time and parental supervision: This app is designed for children ages 4–8 and is not intended for children under 3. Parents should set reasonable single-session limits (5–10 minutes recommended), supervise use at all times, and balance screen time with offline activities.

Not a substitute for professional assessment: This app cannot diagnose, treat, or cure any disease, and cannot replace professional educational assessment, psychological assessment, hearing assessment, or medical advice.

Paid Plans

Numelody offers the following paid plans. Parents can choose freely (subject to the App Store listing):

  • Monthly subscription: Auto-renews monthly, ideal for short-term trial
  • Yearly subscription: Auto-renews annually, ideal for long-term use
  • One-time lifetime purchase: Permanently unlocks all full-version features of the current app - no subscription required

Actual plans and prices are shown on the App Store listing and may vary by region. All paid plans unlock the same full-version features.

Payment and Renewal

  • Subscriptions and purchases are processed through your Apple ID account; payment is fully managed by Apple
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Apple charges your account within 24 hours before the end of the current period for the next period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings -> Apple ID -> Subscriptions
  • After cancellation, full-version features remain available until the end of the current paid period

Scope of Lifetime Access

The one-time Lifetime Access purchase permanently unlocks all full-version features of the current Numelody app, including new features released via app updates within the same major version, at no additional cost. Lifetime Access does not include future standalone apps released as separate products or separately released major new versions. Lifetime Access never expires and can always be restored with the same Apple ID. Buying Lifetime Access does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To avoid duplicate charges, cancel your subscription separately in Apple's subscription management.

Additional Song Packs

Parents can proactively provide an HTTPS address, a 64-bit SHA-256 digest, and an estimated size. The app will download and verify the additional song pack. Before downloading, the app checks storage space; during download, progress is shown with pause, resume, and cancel support; after download, structure and digest are verified before atomic installation. Parents are responsible for confirming the legal source of song pack content. Capyzeno is not responsible for the content of third-party song packs provided by parents. Missing or corrupted songs in a pack are isolated from the library and can be repaired from the original address or locally deleted without affecting purchases or song progress.

Cancellation and Refunds

You can cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. After cancellation, full-version entitlements remain active until the end of the current paid period, then the app returns to the free version - existing artwork and progress are not lost. Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's own refund policy; we do not offer refunds beyond Apple's policy. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, the corresponding entitlement is removed, but existing artwork remains on the device.

Family Sharing and Restore Purchases

Subscriptions and the one-time lifetime purchase both support Apple's Family Sharing (where enabled for your Apple ID). Parents can restore purchases at any time from the Parent Center or the purchase screen using the same Apple ID. Verified entitlements are available offline.

The Parent Gate

Sensitive actions such as purchases, subscription management, song pack downloads, external links, data deletion, and diagnostic export are all placed behind the parent gate and require an adult verification step. Children using the app cannot reach these actions on their own.

Ownership of Children's Content and Music Copyright

All artwork your child creates in this app belongs to your family and stays on your device. We claim no rights over the content and cannot access it. Music content licensing in the app: original melodies belong to Numelody; traditional nursery rhymes and public-domain classical melodies use original arrangements and locally synthesized sounds. Parents are responsible for confirming the legal source of additional song packs they provide.

Data Loss Warning

Local storage means uninstalling loses everything. All Numelody data (child profiles, progress, artwork, additional song packs) is stored locally on your device. We hold no backups. Uninstalling the app, resetting the device, or switching devices will permanently lose the data and it cannot be recovered. Parents should periodically check song pack health via the parent gate and re-download as needed. This app does not currently support iCloud sync or cross-device migration.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent any part of the app
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Remove any copyright or other ownership notices
  • Use the app for any illegal purpose
  • Interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of the app
  • Upload or distribute song pack content without proper authorization

Intellectual Property

The app and all of its content, features, and design (including but not limited to the Numelody brand, the Pip character, animal partner characters, song library content, UI design, the sound synthesis engine, and animations) are the exclusive property of Capyzeno or its licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Capyzeno shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to data loss, hearing damage, lost profits, business interruption, health-related harm, or failure to achieve expected educational outcomes. Capyzeno's total liability to you arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for the full version. Hearing risk special notice: Users are responsible for controlling device volume and usage duration. Capyzeno is not liable for hearing damage caused by high volume or prolonged use.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the app ends immediately, but your lifetime access or your rights within the current subscription period are not affected.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Modified Terms will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any disputes shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; if negotiation fails, disputes may be submitted to a court with proper jurisdiction.

Apple Standard Terms

Use of this app is also subject to Apple's standard Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
