Privacy Policy

Core promise. Screenwright stores recordings, project metadata and exports locally by default. We do not sell personal data and the current app contains no advertising or cross-app tracking SDK.

Data on your Mac

Screenwright stores project packages, recordings, microphone and system audio, screenshots, captions, event tracks, edits, markers, settings and exports on your Mac in locations you choose. Event tracks can contain pointer positions, displayed keystrokes and focused app or window names. This data remains until you delete the relevant project, file or app data.

Permissions

Screenwright requests Screen Recording to capture selected content, Microphone and Camera when you enable those sources, Speech Recognition when you transcribe with Apple Speech, and Accessibility when you enable pointer, keyboard and focus event capture or computer-use actions. macOS controls these permissions, and you can revoke them in System Settings.

Connected services you choose

When you explicitly configure and use a cloud provider, Screenwright sends only the data required for that request directly from your Mac to that provider. Supported optional paths include OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Groq or Fish Audio for transcription or agent requests, and an S3-compatible endpoint for files you choose to upload. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Screenwright does not proxy these requests through a developer-operated server.

Credentials and local server

Provider and S3 credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain. The optional MCP server listens only on the local loopback address, 127.0.0.1. It is not exposed to your local network.

Purchases

Apple processes Screenwright Pro purchases with StoreKit. Apple handles payment credentials. Screenwright receives product and transaction status needed to unlock features; we do not receive your full payment information.

Diagnostics

The current release does not upload analytics or crash reports to a developer server. Diagnostic settings control local logs. If you send a support email or attach files, we receive the information you choose to provide and use it only to respond.

Retention, security and children

Local files remain until you remove them. Keychain and macOS security protect credentials. Screenwright is a general creator tool and is not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
